Build your career in the United Kingdom

Most people moving to the UK for work need an employer that is a licensed sponsor. Whether a job can be sponsored depends on its occupation code and salary, not only on the job title. Use this page to see which paths match your work, then check live roles from licensed sponsors.

For your profession

Make this guide relevant to your work

Choose a profession above to highlight the path that fits you. This is general guidance, not a visa decision.

Professional and graduate roles

Many graduate-level roles can be sponsored if the employer is licensed and the occupation code and salary meet the rules. Check the exact code in the official eligible occupations list before applying.

Official source

Healthcare

Doctors, nurses and many allied health roles can use the Health and Care Worker visa. Nurses need NMC registration. New overseas recruitment of care workers closed in July 2025, so we never show UK care worker roles as sponsorship opportunities.

Official source

Skilled trades

Some trade and technical roles can still qualify, but rules for roles below degree level became much stricter in July 2025. Check whether your occupation code is on the current Temporary Shortage List.

Official source

Frontline roles

Most entry-level roles such as retail, warehouse and general hospitality work are not eligible for Skilled Worker sponsorship.

Official source

Seasonal work

Seasonal farm work is arranged through approved scheme operators, not by applying to individual farms.
